Overview

Forestry Development Trust (FDT) intended to build capacity of forestry and agriculture graduates to become commercial Forestry Business Development Service Providers. The intended training was to equip the graduates with both a) knowledge of how successful agriculture and forestry businesses are grown and b) skills and competences needed to transfer knowledge to new and existing tree planting entrepreneurs in Southern Highlands of Tanzania.

Description of the Service Provided

• DCL designed training plan and developed training materials with detailed training module covering the topics listed in the purpose of the assignment;
• DCL trained onsite using standards tools such MS PowerPoints, flipcharts and class exercises. Additionally, brought in subject matter specialists on licensing, taxation and legal services;
• DCL mentored trained graduates to prepare own growth action plans as well as for their joint business in forestry solutions and farm management.
